Do you begin to wonder about life*
If all the hustle and the strive
Are really worth living for?*
Life sure ain't no bargain
Sell-Outs, Bankruptcies, Briberies,*
We exist in a make-believe world,
Protests, riots, aggression and lies*
People dressing in disguise
Hiding behind painted faces*
No standards of morality - no basis
In direction of walks,*
Listening to dirty talks
The Nations living in aggression*
Resenting the trial of recession
Which had been burdened upon us*
By previous political actions
Leaving our minds in fractions*
Tasting what is yet to come,
Countries fighting for possessions*
To enlarge their tightening frame
No honesty, no efforts and no shame*
Nothing is anymore the same.
Unneccessary wars dictated by rulers
To enrich their earthly estates*
Killing, breaks-ins, everything goes
As long as it shows*
lt is for the purpose of "better living"
Nobody is willing in free giving*
Or to share belongings with you
There ain't much you can do*
To break the isolation of rnanhood
They brought on themselves in a way*
Nobody wants to stay
At one place anymore*
Keep on moving baby, keep on moving
lt's yourself you got to be proving*
lt's your mind who has to search for soothing
To seek peace and to be at ease*
With yourself and others
But whom are you going to pick as your brothers?*
Don't pick the choices of "colors"
Which our world has to offer*
You dont' know their names
You don't play their garnes*
So what.
But you can start at the beginning
Though your neighbor even became a stranger*
Full of agony, troubles and anger
Shake his hand, show him you understand*
At least this would be a start
For you, for me, for every life existing*
Maybe once people become smart
That hostility and resentment don't get them far*
All it leads is to destroying and war
Killing the small existence of love what's left*
Don't get involved in this kind of theft,
Contribute to the needs of our countries*
Like starvation and lack of necessary medication
World Food Conferences don't accomplish much*
If you are an individual as such
By emptying your plate only half the way*
And make the rest of it stay
In already crowded garbage cans*
While children are dying before even having had a chance to see the light
No strength left in their bodies to put up the fight*
To reach out for a handful of rice
No chance to keep off the rats and mice*
Away from their skin and bones
Broken down by incurable diseases *
Male-Nutrition is not just a word*
You can push away from your conscience
Have insight and break down the fence*
Of your ignorance and self-content
Who knows - maybe it is also meant -*
Soon in the future - I am sure -
we all will experience the pain of being poor*
Perhaps not spiritually but physically
It depends on you,*
So don't raise your arms innocently to heaven
For God's sake, just don't sit there*
It is too much to bare
If you have a heart for your fellow human beings
How can you help -*
I have heard on the News
That by just eliminating one drink before suppertime*
The food supply for the starving ones would be fine
- for at least 28 million more -*
Shouldn't this be a goal you could be living for?
Pollution, energy crisis, oil shortage,
Hike on Food Prices, Strikes to no end*
And on top of it corruption sent,
Isn't there anybody we can trust?*
Our Government fell apart
Our Leadership didn't act too smart*
By letting matters get out of hand
By getting involved in criminal action*
Which couldn't be solved to any satisfaction
America, where are you heading?*
You are being used
And then abused*
After you jumped in what the world expected
Yet the light which is reflected*
Upon us - we look like fools
You surely need a lot of change*
Within yourself and foreign affairs
Because really nobody cares*
Except for your money and help
In emergency situation*
Leaving your own people in frustration
Leading maybe to revolution*
If the solution
Is not found very soon*
By an honest and trusting person
Willing to take on hardship and a firm stand *
For the United States - our land -*
worshipped by many
Dragged down to the gutters*
By others
Divided in two by the color af race*
Black and White, White and Black,
Hatred inside, ready for fight*
Brother against Brother
It sure ain't a religous thing to do*
Or should I say,
Not a Christian way?*
What about the "red skins"
The original Americans*
They don't either have gotten a chance
No consideration, no recognition*
Neither from us nor politicians
They are being had, sold out*
We sure ought to be "proud"
To accept the treatment they are getting*
Little Rock - Arkansas is long forgotten
Their surroundings are stinking rotten*
The black spirit had been broken
Everybody still lives in poverty*
Hopes left for Democracy
One of these days*
their life in one big chase
One big joke*
Loosing their pride and having to hide
Wherever it pleases us*
Did you ever think
what makes us so special of being white?*
It's just a plain coincidence
Of our fathers mating in the past*
But this matter could change very fast
Depending on our upgrowing generation*
Maybe we will have to face up the the situation
Of relationships between all kinds of colors*
Of children in yellow, red, white and black shades
Liberatian all over the nation*
The big word is spreading around
Yet I don't particularly care for its sound *
Shouldn't we first start out with Love*
Pointing our fingers above
To the one we seem mostly to ignore*
The one who is called "Greatest of all"?
We receive understanding, we should pass it on*
Before the feeling is gone
And we are left out again in the cold*
The Bible has the greatest story told
How to learn from the gospel*
Their disciples, their preaching
It was meant for us- the teaching -*
Yet what are we doing with this wisdom?
Running, hiding, making excuses,*
Deafness, Blindness, making abuses,
Pretending is the name of the game*
It sems to be the slogan for today
But don't forget you have to pay*
The price one way or the other
When your time card runs out on you*
Regrets - it might be too late
You knock on that certain gate*
And find out you hadn't punched in
Your possibilities then are quite slim*
To find promised heaven after death
So for God's Sake try to think less*
Of yourself - start out with others
Come on, love your brothers*
Without limitations of any kind
Perhaps all of us will find*
Peace on Earth -
