Traveling Road

By Brigitte Gastel written August 1974 in Belleville, Illinois
Hey, how is the road you are travelling on?*
Has it led you into the right direction
Maybe even to perfection*
Or are you ignoring the fact
That you are just putting on an act*
To make the human race believe
That you were able to receive*
        Something that does not exist?
Which cannot survive in our midst*
Impossible, because it is not in demand
Who wants to give you their helping hand*
Just like the beach with uncountable sand?

Everybody is hiding and digging a hole
Don't want to be bothered by any soul*
Fear and anguish are ruling the world
Dark clouds are sweeping the sky*
Is the real meaning of existence passing you by?

Be honest, maybe you have overlooked
That your trip already had been booked*
        Before your seed was planted
It's not gonna be the life you have demanded*
Acceptance it is you need the most
Don't play life like you would be the host *

One day you have to stand up and explain*
To the greatest host of all
Why you had been playing it so vain*
And sure hope that you are not going to fall
In depths where is no end*
And no angel will be from heaven sent
To rescue your immortal soul*
So stand up and reach your goal

Don't be afraid of stormy weather
Which will cross your path in so many ways*
Try to count your happy days!
